We're on holiday for summer.
There are still some things happening, but most of Ildhafn's regular activities take a break for December and January: from St Catherine's Faire until after Canterbury Faire.
Since the siege and assault has ceased at Troy, a bold band of Ildhafners went to Innilgard instead. Great Southern Gathering is an annual event that rotates between Innilgard (Adelaide), Ynys Fawr (Tasmania) and Krae Glas (Melbourne), and usually consists of a day of classes and a day of tourneys.
Fencing classes are now on Tuesday Nights, in the City.
Due to a change at City Dance we are moving the mid week rapier class from Wednesday to Tuesday from the first week of September
I am planning on stepping down as Chatelaine at St Catherine's Faire later this year so I am looking for someone enthusiastic to become my deputy for the next few months, to learn the ropes and hopefully make the transition to a new officer much easier.
Dancing is off tonight, as several of the dancers have colds. It'll be on again next week - August the 8th.
Our July pub night was very well attended. It was great to see some of our friends from the Argent Court and from the Legio II Augusta. We also got a special peek at a draft of the first edition of the Reenactors' Gazette, and it looks great (and it includes a very nice article on this year's Bloth). Overall, it was a very pleasant opportunity to catch up "out of garb".
In fact, it was so much fun we're doing it again in August.
There will be no formal singing class this Sunday, July the 7th (though casual singing may of course break out at the Arts and Sciences afternoon).
Regular Sunday-afternoon practices, starting at 4pm, will resume on July the 14th.
