Ludwig von Regensburg

Ludwig was, much to his later disappointment, born too late to go on crusade in the Levant.

The vision is described..

He was educated in a cathedral school, but decided against the priesthood and, abandoning the tonsure, joined the Ostsiedlung to Prussia.  His Baltic crusade was brief,

however, as the untimely death of his older brother called him home to a small inheritance (at least it saved him from a Polish winter).

Ludwig has an indulgent attitude to goliards, but can't stand mendicants (they should enter a monastery or get a job).

Ludwig's biography is subject to change without notice.

I started playing SCA at Adelaide University (College of Blessed Herman the Cripple) in 1996.  Since then I have played in Florida (Shire [now Barony] of Oldenfeld, Trimaris) and Indiana (Shire of Mynedd Seren, Midrealm) before moving to Auckland (Barony of Ildhafn, Lochac) in 2006.

Current interests include high-mediaeval clothing, music, 15th Century dancing, sword fighting (from I.33 to Capoferro, but especially Meyer), brewing and bread-making.  I believe I have the unique achievment of having received an entertainment award (Taillefer) for writing quarterly reports.

I blog here, mostly summeries of our fencing practises, and also over at blogger.

I wrote this piece for Katherine's Pelicaning.
