from the steward:

Greetings Good Gentles,

Let it be known that St Sebastians Archery Competition and Harvest Festival will be held at Braythwayte Manor on Friday 16th to Sunday 18th March. Details and booking form will be posted on the website in the near future. This is a heads up though so that you have time to prepare an entry for the A&S competition at the event which is to be “Baked or Brewed”.

  • “Baked” might be a Pie, some Biscuits, an item of Pottery, a Cake or perhaps some Bread baked over the camp fire at the event.
  • “Brewed” does not necessarily imply alcohol (it could be a herbal tea if such a beverage was period). Still, you have sufficient time to prepare that ale, mead or wine.

Entries will be scored by combining marks for the item itself and for the documentation. The item will be judged by the populace (so please make enough for everyone to have a taste). Your average score from the populace will be added to your score for the documentation.

Children are encouraged to enter and will be competing directly with adults. Allowances will be made for the age of the entrant when marking documentation.

There is likely to be a prize for the winner.

Those wishing to book for the event, can find the booking form here, and a printable PDF flyer for the event here.

Enjoy!
