Last Summer Class on Pavaniglia

Submitted by Katherina Weyssin on January 24, 2011 - 8:58am

Present: Katherina, William, Anna, Caterine

Warm up: Almains?

Main Session: Pavaniglia

We spent the greater part of the class alternating between dancing all the way through Pavaniglia (one couple at a time), and practicing some easier dance (La Figlia de Guglielmino, Pungente Dardo, Ginevra, Amoroso).

It was very satisfying to be able to dance all the way through, at last. Both couples (Katherina and William; Caterine and Anna) are able to do this now with only a few errors. The new spacing for the 4th and 5th mutanze is pretty and conversational, and the new floor-plan for the finale is a great improvement.

We have a little polishing still to do, but that's all. Not bad work for six weeks!

Note: Regular all-inclusive renaissance dance classes will re-start in February. Over summer Katherina Weyssin runs intensive classes for a few of her advanced students, where we look at more difficult material. If this appeals to you, come to regular dance classes for a year or so to build up your skills, and you might be ready to join us by next summer!
