Date and Time:
Thursday, February 17, 2011 - 19:30 to 21:30
Regular weekly dance classes will re-start. Anyone is welcome, on any evening, but if you're thinking about joining in why not start with the first class of the year?
This class will be in Studio 3 of City Dance Studios (above MacDonald's on Queen Street). After that they will alternate between Birkdale Community House and City Dance, as usual.
This year we will be trying a new format:
- OPEN / BEGINNERS CLASS - From 7:30 to 8:25 we will suit the dances to the experience levels of those attending. Everyone is welcome, beginners are always welcome (and we'll always be willing to teach from scratch, even if you've never danced before). Anna de Wilde will manage these sessions, and several of the more experienced dancers will take turns at teaching.
- ADVANCED CLASS - From 8:30 to 9:30 Mistress Katherina Weyssin will run an advanced training session. Anyone is welcome to watch, but participation will be by invitation. If you'd like to join us at some point, talk to Katherina (whether or not you think you are ready). Most people will need to come to regular dance classes for 1-2 years (or more) to learn the basic vocabulary and techniques. In addition, you'll need reasonable physical fitness, and to have or be prepared to make suitable clothes to perform in.
For more information please contact Katherina Weyssin: (09) 482 4399 or 0272 282 977
