January Web report

Submitted by Katherina Weyssin on January 15, 2014 - 11:11am

Webminister's report for the Barony of Ildhafn, for the
period from November 2013 to January 2014.

I took office in December 2012; and I intend to at least complete 2 year term.

-- Ildhafn

We've had the usual run of maintenance-tasks for this time of year: putting all regular activities "on hold" over our summer break, and re-starting them, often with new times/dates/details in the new year. Also a number of officer changeovers, with all the updates that are associated with that.

I'll be encouraging our new officers to actively maintain (and hopefully: improve!) the areas of our website that are pertinent to their roles.

I'd like to get several other people fully competent in dealing with webforms this year, so I'm not the only person updating them.

Otherwise, not much to report.

It makes me slightly smug to consider the number of times at this Canterbury Faire past that I heard some member of our populace answer a query with "yes, it's on the Ildhafn website" (can I get a copy of that pattern? do you have notes on your feast-service? what gear do we store on the CF site? what does it look like? can I get a copy of that music? etc, etc).

Movement at last!

Ed Braythewayte and William de Cameron have been discussing this further, and I think we're getting somewhere. If everyone's schedules allow it, there will be more to report in the next quarter.
