Summer Dancing - Advanced Classes

Submitted by Katherina Weyssin on December 15, 2010 - 10:30am

Regular dance classes have finished for the year, and will re-start in February, but we're still dancing!

Over summer Katherina Weyssin runs intensive dance classes for her more advanced students, meeting twice a week (or more), and working on more challenging material than we usually try. Last summer Anna de Wilde, Caterine de Vantier, William de Cameron and Katherina Weyssin studied the Pavaniglia from Il Ballarino. This summer we're looking at that Pavaniglia again, and Ludwig von Regensburg will join us for Negri's Canario.

In the first class of each week (usually Monday) we spend ~90 minutes working on one mutanza from the Pavaniglia; then 30 minutes revising the material from the previous session on Il Canario. On the second class of the week we reverse that: 90 minutes on new material from Il Canario, 30 minutes revising the previous Pavaniglia session.

Last summer was a lot of very hard work, and a great deal of fun. This summer promises to be even better.

If this sort of intensive dance-training appeals to you, come to regular classes for a year or so, and you might be ready to join us next summer.
