Nominations

If you would like to be considered for the role of Baron or Baroness of Ildhafn, please nominate yourself by email to Katherina Weyssin, at seneschal@ildhafn.lochac.sca.org. I will forward the nominations to the Crown and to Their Excellencies, for their consideration.

Please include a letter of intent, suitable for publishing to the populace. This might include a brief history of yourself and your involvement in the SCA, and some of your hopes and ideas for the Barony of Ildhafn.

Who can be Baron or Baroness?

You have to be a member of the Barony Ildhafn, and willing to serve.

You can stand as a single individual or as a pair. Two people standing together could be a romantic couple or they could be friends. People standing together can be any combination of genders - it doesn't have to be a man and a woman.

Of course, you can live in any part of the the Barony: Cluain and Ildhafn City.

Who decides?

The Crown decides who will be the next Baron and/or Baroness of Ildhafn.

They will poll the populace: it's very important to the Crown that we give them as much information as possible, when the time comes, so that They can make a wise and well-informed decision. However, the final decision is always and entirely Theirs.

As seneschal, I will be running the administrative side of this process. Please direct any questions you have about the timeline and mechanics and so forth to me.

Of course, if you have broader questions - about the role of baron and baroness, about the group - I couldn't do better than to direct you to Their Excellencies Rudiger and Alyenora, to our local peers, to present and past territorial barons and baronesses of this group others, and of course to the Crown themselves.

          your servant,
          Katherina Weyssin, Seneschal of Ildhafn
