Officer reports

===============

Seneschal (David)

---------

Need deputy Reeve, to assist Gary with duties and possibly take over as Reeve. Applications to David or Gary.

Need deputy marshal in Auckland with specific duties to include collection of money for authorisation cards.

Thanks to the officers for actually submitting reports (or excuses on time).

Herald - there having been only one application for the role of Baronial Herald in the last month, applications are now closed. Pending approval from the Kingdom Herald, changeover will happen at the Bloth.

Making of things as per the Queen's Birthday Wish. Having now all recovered from our previous endeavours, it's time to be thinking about what we're going to do.

- Good suggestion made that we encourage people outside of the core group to be involved.

- If anyone has ideas, please please post to the list.

Fencing (David)

-------

The change of time for Sunday rapier practice seems to have been successful, with 8 people showing up last week.

A fibreglass rapier making workshop is being planned - interested parties please talk to David and Matt.

Alex is talking to the University fencing club about possible use of their gear.

Looking for a replacement. Applications to David.

Planning for the tournament before the Bloth.

Herald (Phil)

------

Successfully found a replacement.

As NZ Herald have put together a national Order of Precedence, being some 180 people. This has been forwarded to Wakeline (Kingdom Herald), to assist in updating Canon Lore.

Sent an introductory letter to the other NZ group heralds.

Archery (Nick)

-------

Nothing. Too wet, too busy.

Definite interest in archery from the University group, but at this stage no convenient time has been found to organise practice.

Now a member of the Massey archery club, will make enquiries about other people being able to use the club.

Constable (Nick)

---------

Photos are now online. Some correspondence received about potentially lost items, but lots of things remain unclaimed.

Chatelaine (Wendy)

----------

Waiting to hear back from someone at a kindergarten in Onehunga, who has enquired about us doing some form of demo or display.

Unfortunately, the photos which were taken at the AUMG May feast didn't turn out very well.

Otherwise, fairly quiet.

A&S (Michaela)

---

Now in charge of A&S at Coronation, many people will be assisting however.

Still to forward collection of links to Kelsie. (Again)

Emails sent around about the Masque, but not much interest at this stage.

Lists (Karen)

-----

Nothing much to report. Have emailed report to Kingdom, but didn't get any reply.

Events

======

AUMG pot-luck feast - May 6th

- Good turnout from everyone, was a fun event.

Bloth

- 20 adults booked so far. 10 more who are "definitely coming", but have yet to pay.

- PLEASE BOOK NOW!

- Revised budget (now not including the hall deposit as a cost) means that break-even is still quite achievable.

- ACTION: Wendy to go along to Sword and Shield practice on Sunday to see if they will be booking.

- ACTION: Wendy to talk to Derek about how many people will be entering the Tournament of the Roses.

- ACTION: David to give Wendy the public liability insurance information

- The Medieval Shop are interested in coming along. Wendy to visit them to sort out details.

- ACTION: Wendy/Phil to organise tickets which can be sold through the Medieval Shop.

- ACTION: Wendy/Phil to get some posters organised which can be put up at the University.

- ACTION: David to organise a cheque for the liquor license ($63).

- ACTION: Wendy/Andrew to check about sound system availability in the hall for use for dancing.

Poster for outdoors at the park which was being made by Karen has not happened at this time, due to problems with the paint not being waterproof.

Some discussion about how we might be able to get more people to book, and to book earlier.

Coronation

- David to talk to Margaret to see what Ildhafn needs to be bringing down for Coronation.

General Business

================

We need to identify who the other people are who used to attend our events, what's happened to them and how we can get them along again. Previous years we've had upwards of 60 people attending the Bloth, but recently it's been quieter.

- Previous years have had advertising in the paper, community newsletters etc.

- Steel weapons groups used to all show up. The splintering of these groups may be a factor.

- People are dropping out of many of the medieval groups at the moment. It seems to be a quiet time overall.

ACTION - Wendy to ring up some radio stations

ACTION - Wendy to invite John Campbell and family

ACTION - David/Wendy to contact steel weapons groups

ACTION - David to ask Karen if the Uni roleplaying club have had the Bloth advertised to them.

David/Phil still to organise collecting the gear from Nina.

Next meeting

============

Next council meeting is on June 26th starting at 7:30pm sharp.

Meeting closed at 8:40pm
