Officer reports

===============

Seneschal (David)

---------

Attended Darton Anniversary. Feasting, fighting, and chess!

Unfortunately I wasn't able to make it to the AUMG Frostbane feast, but I've heard good things about it. Congratulations to all those involved.

Karen has officialy stepped down as Lists Officer. Thank you to Karen for the work she has put into this role. This position will not be

refilled at this time, and the function will be fulfilled by the Steward or Marshal in Charge as appropriate.

Position vacant: Deputy Seneschal. Must not be allergic to the idea of taking over as Seneschal when David's term ends. Please contact David if you may be interested.

Thank you to all those who got their quarterly reports/apologies in on time.

Fencing (David)

-------

Nothing much to report. The second part of the fibreglass rapier making workshop will happen as soon as a convenient time for all can be

organised.

A&S (Michaela)

---

Need to send a followup email to Kingdom A&S about how groups are encouraging people into A&S.

The planned September A&S event will not happen at this time, energies to be directed towards St Caths instead.

If anyone is interested in being deputy, with a long term (mid next year) view to taking over as A&S officer, please apply to Michaela.

Herald (Clare)

------

Submissions for Alan the Traveller, and Katherine Xavier have been sent in. Work to begin on several other applications shortly.

Sent out the new payment policy. Payment for submissions must now happen in advance.

Chatelaine (Wendy)

----------

Reminder from 2 meetings back - We need to make some small flyers or handouts of some kind.

ACTION: Wendy has given this some thought, and will look into resurrecting the business cards we used to have, and talk to Kelsie about possibilities.

Advertised for people to assist with the kindergarten demo, but little response. Unfortunately at the time it is on (daytime), most people are working.

None of the other new people in the area that we're aware of have managed to come along yet, some more are scheduled to be arriving over the next few months.

Archery (Nick)

-------

Nothing to report.

The question was asked if the Council would consider spending money on targets. This is something the Council is happy to consider, and will gladly accept proposals.

Constable (Nick)

---------

The Baroness has collected her items from the lost property.

Various items in the lost property have been found to have names on them - details will be forwarded to the list.

Proto-college of St Dionysius/Medieval Guild

--------------------------------------------

Frostbane happened, and by all accounts was a good although small event.Particular comment was made about the White Tart and how good it was.

Events

======

St Catherines 2006:

- 6 bookings so far!

- Booking forms are available on the website

http://ildhafn.sca.org.nz/stcaths

Wendy is interested in running a Yule event - will liase with Cluain to discuss possibilities.

12th Night - anyone interested in running this, please give it some thought and put in a bid!

For those who will not be making the journey to Canterbury Faire 2007, the Great Lakes Tourney (in Taupo) will be happening on Waitangi Weekend as well.

General Business

================

Vanessa and Matt have continued their work on rewriting the Society Equestrian Rules to try and assist in making them less US-centric. The proposed changes have been sent up the chain and will hopefully be integrated.

Vanessa will be running another unofficial equestrian day sometime in September.

Action from 2 meetings back - Kelsie to figure out how much canvas is required to make some loaner fencing gear.

The question was previously raised regarding the charging for authorisation cards

- David to talk to SCANZ/NZ Lists about this.

- Followup : Some discussion at Darton Ann. with various people about

this. David to prod the SCANZ committee and lists about this further.

David still to write up a formal bid form for the group to use. Apologies for this not happening already.

Andrew has agreed to be Deputy Marshal for Ildhafn. "I have been going to trainings, and nobody's been killed"

David to make the bank account details available for online bookings for St Catherines Faire (and other events).

With the number of groups we now have in the upper North Island (Ildhafn, Cluain, and two colleges), it was discussed how the calendar could be nicely filled up without any one group having to run too many events and tiring people out. David to talk to Katherine and the proto-College Seneschals about coordinating a timetable of events.
