Ildhafn Council Meeting 29th April 2007

Meeting opened: 7:37pm

Present: Clare, David, Michaela, Alex, Andrew, Wendy, Kelsie

Apologies: Nick, Derek

OFFICER REPORTS

Herald: Badge for Barony (Silver Lymphad) submitted to Laurel. 4 silver lymphad tokens have been promised to the Gentle that has granted us permission to conflict. There are lots of submissions currently in process.

Arts & Sciences: Still waiting to hear back from Kingdom A&S Officer about replacement. No other business to report.

College: May Day festival held yesterday. 20 attendees. Very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. SCA and Argent Lords members in attendance. There were issues in organising a hall due to time constraints, which meant advertising was late and not very good. Looking at starting project for 2007 – siege weapons in the next couple of weeks. Would like to get tourneys for Re-O week organised as early as possible to make the most of the opportunity.

Baron & Baroness: Nothing to report.

WebMaster: If asking for WebMaster to update info on the website, please make sure you provide that info with your request as it can take a while to find it otherwise!

Rapier: Wet weather is causing problems so practises haven't been happening much. David is investigating finding an indoor venue.

Heavy: Similar problem to Rapier – too dark & damp to train in park and St George hall not suitable due to rafters.

Seneschal: Nothing new to report.

Chatelaine: Kingdom Hospitaller has accepted recommendation of Zara as replacement. Need to advise Zara!

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Bloth: Bid received from David – Sat 23rd June, Avondale Lions Hall, $20 per person, 25 person break-even. Cook – Vanessa Marsh. Bid accepted.

Collegium: Need to send deposit cheque of $50 & booking form to Camp Maynard. Wendy to get cheque book from Gary and arrange.

Bal d'Argent: Katherine has decided not to put a bid in now.

St Catherine's Faire: Wendy needs to phone Motu Moana to confirm booking details.

Yule/Twelfth Night: Need to get bids for these events. Wendy to post to list.

GENERAL BUSINESS:

College requested financial assistance for wood to build siege weapons. Council suggested some ideas for people to contact or fundraising as this is not really something we would pay for.

Anna Cruz is trying to set up a new rule set for steel weapons groups and is looking for a SCA perspective. She approached Derek who declined. Kelsie asked if anyone else was interested in helping her out. No council members were interested.

Wendy would like to permanently change Council Meeting night to the last Sunday of the month instead of Mondays. Council agreed so this will take effect from next month.

College Seneschal needs to be added to the Ildhafn Council mailing list. David will action this.

Meeting Closed: 8:58pm
