Attractions in the area

There are some lovely sights within a few kilometres of the event site, Hunua Falls Camp.

While you're in the area, you might also like to visit:

Hunua Falls Reserve

233 Falls Road - 350m from the event site

The waterfall is gorgeous, and flows all year round. It's only a few minutes walk from the event-site.

There's a pretty, grassy picnic area, safe swimming in the river away from the falls, public toilets, and ample parking. It's the start of many bushwalks through stunning New Zealand forests. Walks are anything from 15 minutes to several hours. There's a good map near the carpark.

Bug-spray is useful against any mosquitoes.

Cosseys Reservoir

Cossey's Access Road - 3.5km from site by car, or 5km return on foot from the waterfall.

You can walk from Hunua Falls: it's beautiful, strenuous and takes a few hours. You can also drive directly in.

John Hill Estate Winery

Corner of John Hill & White Roads: about 3.2km (5 minute drive) from the event site.

Open noon until 8:30pm on Friday; and 9-5:30 on Saturday & Sunday. Cellar door, restaurant, and art gallery. Also offers target-shooting and archery activities.

Clevedon Animal Farm

271 Clevedon-Kawakawa Road, Clevedon - 16km (20 minute drive) from event site

Pony rides, farm walks; sheep, goats, chickens, donkeys, ducks etc. Bookings are essential.

Beach

Kawakawa Bay and Maraetai are the closest options. Both are about 30km, or 35 minutes drive from site. Maraetai is a pretty sea-side village with cafes, takeaways, playgrounds, and lovely views of Waiheke Island. Kawakawa Bay is a little smaller, but equally scenic.
