Ball at last class

Submitted by Katherina Weyssin on November 23, 2012 - 9:30am

For the last formal class of the year, we decided to fit in as much dancing as possible in two and a bit hours: a miniature ball. We didn't dress up, and we allowed space to repeat dances that we'd struggled with the first time through. The five of us took turns at requesting dances.Present: Anna de Wilde, Katherine of Glastonbury, Eleanor Hall, William de Cameron, Katherina Weyssin

  • Amoroso, the usual version for two and an improvised variant for three
  • Alenchon, twice
  • Reale, twice
  • Pungente Dardo, from Il Ballarino
  • Rostiboli Gioioso, for two and for three
  • Lorrayne Almain
  • Il Conto del Orco, from Il Ballarino
  • Ginevra
  • Ginevra, requested a second time
  • Presonera

Then a short break, and then

  • Black Almain, the usual version for two and an improvised variant for three
  • Danse de Cleves, twice
  • Contentezza d'Amore, from Il Ballarino
  • Scots Branles
  • Cesarina, twice
  • Belfiore
  • Anello
  • Pungente Dardo, requested again
  • Ballo del Fiore, for two, with variations
  • Amoroso, for two, finishing the night where we began

We concluded the evening with dessert at Vivace, our favourite local restaurant. Regular classes will re-start on February 14th, 2013 (i.e. after Canterbury Faire).
