Fencing pratice

Fight like a musketeer!

We get together on Wednesday evenings to practice rapier, longsword, cloak and dagger, and a whole mix of other ways of using a sword. Have you ever wanted to be d'Artangan? We may be able to help...

Using the SCA's fencing rules (http://lochac.sca.org/rapier) and the various manuals written by early fencing masters, we're doing our best to learn the skills of a swordsman (or woman) from the 15th or 16th century. Our combat is all done with modern fencing masks (or equivalent) and blunted swords, and we have an authorisation process before you're allowed to enter tournaments.

We have some spare equipment available to get you started, so if you're interested, please get in touch.

We ask those attending to pay $10/week to help cover hall hire, with a discount rate available if you sign up for the term (6 weeks). And better yet, your first time is free. But if you just want to drop in and have a look at what we do, that's great too! (but we'd appreciate knowing that you're coming).

We take a break during the primary school holidays, so our first term is for 6 weeks.

Event Date and Time:
Repeats every week every Wednesday until Fri Mar 13 2020.
