Hamlet of Hareby

Welcome to the Hamlet of Hareby

The northernmost settlement of the Barony of Ildhafn. We are an early medieval reenactment group, interested in experiencing hands on medieval life (the fun bits).
Our hamlet welcomes all reenactors, as well as curious travellers to join us in whatever we are doing, be it feasting and drinking around our hearth, hunting beasts in the forest or learning a new craft.

How To Find Us

Travel two hours North of Ildhafn (Auckland), wind your way to the top of the Brynderwyn Pass and below you will see the centre of the lands we call home, Whangarei.
From time to time, our Hamlet gathers together around our hearth (wherever we have set it) anywhere from the Kaipara Harbour up to the fair lands of Kerikeri to camp and enjoy each other’s company.

What We Like To Do

Most Saturday afternoons, with the blessings of the weather, we hone our Archery skills on the fields of Springs Flat, thanks to a most generous local Lord and Lady. Should fellow archers wish to join us we have a small amount of gear to lend.
Ofttimes, we’ll meet to learn Traditional Crafts or bring our own project to work on in the company of friends.
Music is at the heart of our times together and our musicians are always willing to play a measure or two.

Contact Us

Come visit, join us around our hearth or match us on the archery field if you dare (all in good fun of course).
