Title: Chirugeon Sash

Just before Canterbury Faire, the Chirugeon sash was discovered to be missing. I chose to use this opportunity to do my first bit of embroidery, using the technique of applique for both the front and back of the sash. I had some spare silk blend lying around in the correct colours, and got to work. The long seams are machine sewn, but all the applique is hand done. I put a few different hooks and eyes on this sash, to facilitate people of varying sizes to wear it.  Whilst not necessarily historically accurate, the sash forms a crucial aspect of our SCA historicism – allowing us to identify the person responsible for First Aid, without breaking our immersion in the game.
