**We have confirmed a class by the most excellent seamstress Christine Bess Duvant, teaching a coif class. Coifs are an excellent way to keep the sweat from your eyes under your helmet while fighting.
For $10 (covers materials) you are most welcome to learn to make your own under her instruction
Alternatively, for $40 she will make you a Coif to order in fine linen by the end of the weekend
Lady Rose le Taillor is completing a class on Gambesons, and Lord Dauid de Cochrane is teaching an informative class about running lists effectively.
There will be a Village-style dinner at the end of Saturday’s training, and all are welcome to stay on after the meal and join in some camaraderie and conversation with like-minded friends.
Please note: Those whom will be bringing bows, we ask that any over 30lb bows be discussed with the stewards prior, as there is a limited space archery range.
No glass is to be taken into the arenas, please, at the request of the venue.
The Quandries of Listkeeping, and How to Solve Them. Ildhafn Martial Academy, May 17 A.S. LX (2025) by Ld Dauid de Cochrane, Hamlet of Hinterland Downs (Southron Gaard) As Stewards and Marshals, it is often easy to overlook the matter of Listkeeping for tournaments. Someone volunteers and they just… do it. However, Listkeeping can be a very technical matter, and can be crucial to the running of an event with a tight schedule (“I’m sorry good gentles, dinner will be delayed due to the tourney running over time…”). It is also far too easy to mess it up if you’re not careful. In this class we will focus on the details of draw construction, how to estimate the time your tourney will take before it starts, and what actually happens during all that time between rounds when everyone is staring at the Lists Table and wondering: “What on earth are they doing over there?”. Bring a writing instrument and scratch paper for taking notes, and yes: there will (hopefully) be at least one exercise in constructing a tourney draw for participants.
