The Ildhafn School of Defence invites you to gather in Studio 3 of the Central Dance Studios (above McDonalds, Queen Street) to learn the subtle mysteries of the Arte of Defence.

Generally we spend Tuesday evenings working from a particular historical fencing manual. Often we will study one style or period for several months, then choose another. Some of the historical fencing masters we have studied are: Capo Ferro, Fabris, Carranza, Thibault, Meyer, Manciolino, Marozzo, and Silver.
The first Tuesday of each month we devote to free sparring, attempting to put into practice the techniques we've studied, within the frame-work of the SCA rapier/cut-and-thrust ruleset.
