We are interested in a very broad period: nominally 600 AD to 1600 AD. While the focus of our group is on Medieval and Renaissance Europe, we also consider other cultures and regions that were in contact with medieval Europe. At an SCA event you often find people interested in - and dressed as if they come from - many parts of this spectrum. It is not unusual to find a Viking warrior discussing cooking with an Elizbethan lady, or a Mongol and a high-medieval Knight sharing war-stories.
