St Catherine's Faire and Baronial Investiture

Date and Time:
Friday, November 24, 2017 - 17:30 to Sunday, November 26, 2017 - 13:00

St Catherine's Faire - our annual all-weekend event will this year also see the investiture of our next Baron and Baroness. Baron Rudiger and Baroness Alyenora have lead our barony since 2011 but have decided it is time for them to step down. Come along and help us thank them for their service, and welcome Their Majesties Steffan and Branwen as they visit to invest the new Baron and Baroness.

Plus bonfires, dancing, fencing, music, archery - what more could make a wonderful weekend? Bookings are now closed, sorry!

It will be a fully-catered event, with accommodation, from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon.

The majority of the "usual" St Catherine's will happen: fencing, archery, armoured combat, maybe Arts and Sciences classes. But the highlights of the event will be the investiture of our new Baron and Baroness on Saturday afternoon, followed by a fabulous ball and then a sumptuous feast prepared by Lady Vettoria.

Dates and times

Friday November 24th to Sunday November 26th, 2017.

Opening and closing times

The event opens at 5:30pm on Friday (4:30 for those setting up). Please don't arrive early - another group may be still there.

The event finishes immediately after lunch on Sunday, at around 1pm. We'll clean up and clear out straight away - plan to be gone by 2pm.

Historical costume is optional on Friday, necessary on Saturday and Sunday.

Site

The event site is at Hunua Falls Camp (203 Falls Road, Hunua, Auckland). It's an extremely well-appointed, well-maintained campsite, with a large hall, plentiful accommodation, good facilities for SCA use, and beautiful and extensive grounds. If you were at May Crown in 2015 or St Catherine's Faire last year, we enjoyed the site so much that we're using it again. More details are available on the dedicated site information page.
