Food options for Labour Weekend

Food bookings now closed.

Read more to find out about cooking facilities.

Cooking facilities:

The house kitchen is not available at all.

There will be a fridge in the garage that you are welcome to use to store perishables. Wine and beer can only be stored in the fridge if there is plenty of space. Please write your name on anything you store in there.

Cold water available from taps around the camp. A cauldron of hot water will be suspended over a seperate fire. If you take hot water, please add some cold to replace it.

There will be a 'medival bbq/cooker' by the camp fire. It has a hot plate, mini-spit (good to roast a joint of meat or a chicken or two) and an area for a couple of pots.

There will also be the spit bar over the camp fire that you can hang pots from. If you would like to borrow a pot, please see one of the stewards (Ed and Elizabeth).

We are currently building a bread oven near the camp fire so hopefully that will be ready for use.

Firewood is stored under the bushes next to the wood shed. Please only take wood from the wood shed if the stuff under the bushes is wet or has run out.

You are welcome to make your own cooking fire by digging out some turf. However you will need to replace the turf neatly at the end of the event so it is not apparent that there has been a fire there.

Food Scraps + Waste:            Do not feed the dog!!

Food scraps (not bones or chicken) can be thrown into the chook paddock. Other rubbish can be put in the council rubbish sacks in the garage.

NB: All bottles and recycling is to be taken away with you after the event.

Remember, this is a Living History Camp so please keep all non-period containers out of sight. This includes milk bottles, tin cans, packets from the supermarket etc etc.

Beware the authenticity police will be patrolling the camp!
